KosraNo - Unit & Traits

A systematic way to give physical units names

These words/phrases will be used when referring to nouns or adjectives that is related to physical traits or parameters

01:PureUnit

the 7 fundamental units in Physics

Inspired by Science, the seven fundamental units in Astralica are :

Klari (Kla)

Quantity

Kaxi.png

Kaxi (Ka)

Space / Length

Taxi.png

Taxi (Ta)

Time / Duration

maji.png

Maji (Ma)

Mass

hiara.png

Hiara (Hi)

Temperature

kiza.png

Kiza (Za)

Electrical Charge

Krosno_Lira.png

Lira (Li)

Light Intensity

Sometimes, these are referred as "Pure Units"

CompoUnit

Combining Units

When Units are combined, you can end up with a different unit,

In Astralica, we call this "Composite Units"

Position is a "Pure Unit" (made from Kaxi only)

Velocity is a "Composite Unit" (made from Kaxi and Taxi) where Velocity is "Length Divided by Time"

Acceleration is also a "Composite Unit" ("Change in Velocity over time")

Since Units are combined based on Multiplication and Division,

We can clump several fundamental Units together by using the "Ru" particle.

In this case, we can treat the "Ru" particle as a Fraction line.

Everything before "Ru" is the Nominator of that Composite Unit.

Everything after "Ru" is the Denominator of that Composite Unit.

Here we have 2 ways to write the "Ru" particle :

writing it as "ru"

"multiply & divide" symbol

Composite Units Examples

Here are some of the Composite Units written in StoryBoard Script,

These Units might become handy afterwards when it comes to describing some traits (constructing adjectives)

Due to commutativity of multiplication and division,

what stays in the nominator and be arranged however you like

so "KaKaMaRuTaTa" is the same as "KaMaKaRuTaTa" (which means "Energy")

04:Energy

Energy - the one that cannot be Destroyed, nor Created

Since Energy can be converted from one form to another form, Energy can be treated as a gate way to convert one set of Pure Units into another set of Pure Units

And this is what makes "Energy" special to the other Pure Units

So "Energy" has it's own symbol and name :

KosraNo - Æwa

KoNo - Wa

Energy / Work

Wait, no glyphs ?

for now, the glyph for Energy is not designed yet,

this implementation is put on our debug list and will be fixed in future

Sometimes we would like to specify which type of Energy it is, in this case we can use "Æwa", then attach the set of pure units behind it.

when "Æwa" is used, it means that we are describing which Energy it is

when "Wa" is used, Energy is a part of the Composite Unit

Recall that Q = mc delta T

Specific Heat Capacity (c) can be treated as "Energy divided by mass and temperature change", or "KoNo - WaRuMaHi"

if we want to specify or describe the energy we are trying to say is "Heat energy", then we might say "KoNo - Æwa - Hiara" (Energy, what type of Energy ? Temperature Energy)

Here are some more Energy Examples :

Kinetic Energy : KoNo - Æwa - KaRuTa (Energy based on Velocity)

Gravitational Potential Energy : KoNo - Æwa - Kaxi (Energy based on Position)
